Tait TM9300
The TM9300 is Tait's quad-mode DMR mobile radio for vehicle fleets, covering DMR Tier 3 Trunking, DMR Tier 2, MPT1327, and analog FM in one unit. With up to 4,000 channels across 100 zones, 26 talk group lists, and high-power models up to 50W, it handles the most demanding fleet communication requirements. GPS operates in all four protocol modes simultaneously.

Overview
Large government and utility vehicle fleets often run mixed-mode networks where some sites are digital DMR and others are still running legacy analog or MPT. A vehicle radio that drops GPS or talk group features when it roams between network types creates blind spots for dispatch and supervisors trying to maintain situational awareness.
The TM9300 covers VHF 136-174MHz, UHF 400-470MHz and 450-520MHz, and 700/800MHz 757-870MHz with standard 25W output and optional high-power models at 30W, 35W, and 50W. The 4,000-channel, 100-zone configuration (TM9355) supports 26 talk group lists with up to 1,000-2,000 members each. DMR sensitivity is -119dBm (0.25uV) at 1% BER across all bands. GPS operates in all four protocol modes, including analog, so dispatch retains fleet visibility even when vehicles roam onto legacy analog repeaters. Quad-mode operation includes DMR Tier 3 Trunking with roaming between DMR and MPT networks.
The TM9300 carries IP54 protection and exceeds MIL-STD-810G for vibration, shock, and humidity. Operating temperature is -30 degrees C to 60 degrees C. Lone Worker is a standard feature. Voice recording and TAIT AXIOM Mobiles LTE integration are available on select models. TaskBuilder allows site-specific operational automation without custom software development.
Key Features
Quad-Mode with DMR-MPT Roaming
Supports trunked DMR, conventional DMR, MPT1327, and analog FM with automatic roaming between DMR and MPT networks. This means vehicle fleets migrating from MPT or analog can deploy TM9300 radios across the entire fleet before the infrastructure cutover is complete, with no operational disruption.
4,000 Channels, 26 Talk Group Lists
The TM9355 variant provides 4,000 channels across 100 zones and supports 26 talk group lists with up to 1,000-2,000 members per list. This capacity handles the most complex multi-agency channel plans in use today, including county-wide DMR systems with interoperability patches across multiple departments.
GPS in All Four Protocol Modes
Unlike radios that only provide GPS when connected to a digital trunked network, the TM9300 maintains GPS location reporting across trunked DMR, conventional DMR, MPT1327, and analog FM modes. Dispatch retains full fleet visibility even when vehicles are operating on legacy analog infrastructure.
50W High-Power Models
Optional 50W VHF and 40W UHF high-power models extend coverage range for rural, mountainous, and large geographic territory deployments where lower power is insufficient. Selectable power levels from 1W to maximum allow fine-tuned RF management at individual sites or coverage zones.
Lone Worker with Automated Alerts
Lone Worker is a standard feature that automatically alerts dispatch if a solo operator fails to acknowledge a periodic check-in. Combined with always-on GPS, this provides both position data and welfare monitoring for vehicle operators working alone in remote or hazardous areas.
TaskBuilder Operational Automation
TaskBuilder allows configuration of site-specific automated rules without writing custom software. Common applications include automated status messages on zone entry, channel switching on GPS fence triggers, and automated Lone Worker check-in intervals. TAIT AXIOM Mobiles integration adds LTE connectivity as an upgrade path.
