The TP9700 is Tait's flagship DMR portable with true multiband operation across VHF, UHF, 700/800MHz, and 900MHz in a single radio. It eliminates the need for separate radios per band, with bands reconfigurable over the air and 19-hour battery life for full-shift coverage. An ideal upgrade path for existing Tait TP9000-series customers, with full accessory backward compatibility.
Overview
Most fleet operators managing mixed frequency environments end up carrying multiple radios or paying for complete hardware replacements when their network migrates bands. That adds cost, complexity, and confusion for field crews who just need to communicate.
The TP9700 solves this with true multiband operation across VHF 136-174MHz, UHF 378-520MHz, and 700/800MHz 757-870MHz simultaneously, with 900MHz available in singleband configurations. Power output is 5W standard (6W VHF for USA/Canada). It handles Conventional Analog, MPT1327, DMR Tier 2, and DMR Tier 3 Trunking in one device, with up to 2,000 channels on a software license and a 3W speaker with dual-microphone active noise cancellation. WiFi OTAP allows over-the-air programming so your team never has to pull radios from the field for updates.
The TP9700 carries IP65 and IP68 ratings alongside MIL-STD-810G certification for temperature, vibration, drop, humidity, and salt fog. At 13.42 oz with the high capacity battery and a 19-hour runtime in TDMA mode at 5W, it is built for workers who need reliable communications across a full shift in demanding outdoor and industrial environments.

WiFi Over-the-Air Programming
OTAP (Over-the-Air Programming) via WiFi lets fleet administrators push configuration updates without physically touching each radio. For large fleets, this eliminates truck rolls and reduces programming labor to a centralized IT task. Combined with DMR Tier 3 trunking, the radio stays current without taking users offline.
Man Down and Lone Worker Safety
Man Down and Lone Worker alerts are standard features, not optional add-ons. The programmable emergency key gives field workers a dedicated one-button distress signal. Tait GeoFencing integration allows location-based automation, such as alerting dispatch when a worker enters or exits a defined zone.
AES Encryption
Supports AES, DES, and ARC4 encryption algorithms as optional features for organizations requiring secure voice communications. Combined with DMR authentication, the TP9700 meets the security requirements of public safety and enterprise fleet operators without requiring a separate secure radio.
Integrated GNSS Location
Integrated GNSS is available as an option for Tait Location Services, providing real-time position reporting for fleet visibility and dispatch. Bluetooth support for wireless voice accessories adds flexibility for hands-free operation in vehicle or high-noise environments.
