950 Radio Management System
The Omnitronics 950 RMS is a 19-inch rack-mounted hardware dispatch platform for small to medium communication centers requiring up to 12 radio channels and multiple simultaneous operator positions. Overview
The Omnitronics 950 Radio Management System is a rack-mounted hardware dispatch platform built for communication centers that demand long-term, set-it-and-forget-it reliability. The 19-inch, 3U chassis accommodates up to 14 modular card slots, with 6 slots for 950CI Channel Interface cards supporting radio, PSTN, RoIP, landline, and link interfaces. Omnitronics customers report units running for more than 20 years without a reset, and the sub-2-second startup time means the system is operational almost instantly after any power interruption.
Each of the 950's channels operates independently, with three-position audio control per channel from every operator position: Off, Monitor, or Full Control. Remote console placement is handled over two-wire RS485 data and two-wire balanced audio, allowing operator positions up to 1,000 meters from the subrack using existing two-pair cable, which eliminates the need to run network infrastructure to every dispatch position. Multi-subrack configurations use a single cable per operator position to keep installation clean and simple.
The 950 pairs with any Omnitronics 960 Series console or handset, including the 960CC and 960CSD for applications requiring SELCALL and DTMF signaling. Local or remote cross-patching, operator control, and channel control are all standard features. The modular design allows field expansion by adding cards rather than replacing the entire unit, giving VEI the ability to grow with the customer without a rip-and-replace installation.
