Hospitality staff, construction crews, and small business teams need reliable two-way radios fast, without an FCC license application, frequency coordination, or the cost of a licensed radio system. Consumer walkie-talkies are flimsy, and licensed business-band radios mean paperwork and lead time. What they need is a radio that's legal to use commercially the day it arrives, simple enough for any staff member to run, and tough enough for a real job site.

The IC-V3MR runs on MURS, the license-free Multi-Use Radio Service, so it transmits across all five MURS frequencies out of the box, no application required. It ships complete with a Li-ion battery, antenna, and charger, and gives operators 16 memory channels with selectable output power of 2W high, 1W mid, or 0.5W low. A BTL-amplified speaker delivers 1500 mW (typical) of clear audio, or the same 1500 mW through the optional HM-222HLWP speaker-microphone, and VOX, Emergency, and Lone Worker functions add hands-free safety options. Free PC programming software customizes channels per crew.

At 265 g (9.3 oz) with its BP-298 battery and just 58 x 111 x 35.5 mm, the V3MR is compact enough for an all-shift carry but built to Icom's rugged commercial standard: IP54 rated for dust and water resistance, tested to MIL-STD 810G across 11 environmental categories including temperature extremes, humidity, salt fog, vibration, and drop shock. The supplied 2250 mAh Li-ion battery runs 24 hours on a 5:5:90 transmit/receive/standby cycle. Made on Icom's robotic assembly line in Japan, it fits hospitality, construction, and personal use.
