Overview

Vehicle radios rarely get to pick where they live. Buses, service trucks, and command vehicles already have dash space packed with electronics, and keeping the antenna cable short while giving the driver a mic within reach is not always possible. Fleets moving from analog to digital also want a radio that will not force new infrastructure before the budget and the compliance deadline line up.

The IC-F5330D (VHF, 136-174 MHz) and IC-F6330D (UHF, 400-520 MHz) split the radio into a black-box RF unit and a Commandmic control head, joined by a single Ethernet cable extendable to 100 m (328 ft) with Cat5e and powered off that same run (PoE). The RF unit mounts near the antenna to cut cable loss, while the Commandmic goes wherever the driver needs it, including through a PoE switch for in-building installs. It runs IDAS digital and analog FM side by side across 128 channels and 8 zones, at up to 50 W (VHF) or 45 W (UHF), with NXDN Type-D single-site trunking, multi-site conventional operation over IP, DTMF autodial memories, and Over-the-Air Alias caller ID.

The main unit weighs 1.2 kg (2.4 lb) and measures 150 x 45 x 161.8 mm (5.9 x 1.8 x 6.4 in); the Commandmic adds 250 g (8.8 oz). Both are built and tested to MIL-STD-810 G for shock, vibration, and temperature extremes, rated to run from -30 deg C to +60 deg C (-22 deg F to +140 deg F), with IPX4 splash resistance on the Commandmic itself. That mix of remote-mount flexibility and mil-spec durability suits transit fleets, utility trucks, and buildings wiring radios over an existing IP network instead of a dashboard.

Ethernet Remote-Mount Installation

The RF unit and Commandmic control head connect over a single Ethernet cable, extendable up to 100 m (328 ft) with Cat5e, and the Commandmic draws its power over that same cable. Route it through a PoE switch for in-building installs without pulling full radio wiring.

Dual IDAS Digital and Analog FM

Runs IDAS digital and conventional analog FM side by side across 128 channels and 8 zones, so a fleet can start digital without pulling analog radios off the road. NXDN Type-D single-site trunking and multi-site conventional operation over IP are both built in.

Lone Worker and Radio Kill/Stun/Revive

Built-in Emergency call and Lone Worker functions flag a downed operator automatically. Radio Kill, Stun, and Revive (RX) let dispatch disable a lost or stolen unit, and Over-the-Air Alias shows caller names without manual programming.

GPS and Accessory Integration

Connects to a GPS receiver through the optional ACC cable, and an optional D-SUB accessory cable adds external PTT, channel select, horn, ignition, and dimmer control for vehicle integration.
