Icom IC-F1100D
The IC-F1100D is a compact VHF portable for NXDN and dPMR conventional operation, covering 136-174 MHz with 16 channels and three power tiers (5W, 2W, 1W). Icom's custom speaker delivers 1500 mW of class-leading audio, and IP67 sealing plus MIL-STD-810G testing keep it working through drops, dust, and rain. The supplied BP-280 battery runs up to 18 hours, an easy all-day carry at 258 grams for education, hospitality, and retail teams.
Overview
Small businesses and campus teams that need to modernize their radios often face a tradeoff: digital voice clarity and safety features cost more, and replacing an entire fleet at once isn't realistic on a retail or hospitality budget. Entry-level crews also work in noisy back-of-house spaces, kitchens, loading docks, hallways, where a radio has to cut through the noise, not just add to it.
The IC-F1100D answers both problems. It runs NXDN or dPMR Mode 1/Mode 2 conventional, plus mixed analog/digital operation, so a school district or hotel can bring digital radios online without retiring the analog units still in service. Covering 136-174 MHz with 16 channels and three selectable power levels (5W, 2W, 1W on Hi/L2/L1), it also supports NXDN Type-D single-site trunking, individual/group/all call, a low-level digital voice scrambler, and Radio Stun/Revive/Kill for a lost or stolen unit.
At 258 grams and 52.2 x 111.8 x 29.4 mm, it stays light on a belt or apron for a full shift. The chassis is rated IP67 for dust-tight, submersible protection (IP55/IP54 for water-jet and splash resistance) and tested to MIL-STD-810G across temperature, humidity, vibration, and shock, with an operating range of -30 deg C to +60 deg C. The supplied BP-280 battery runs up to 18 hours, enough for a full shift in education, hospitality, or retail settings.
Key Features
IDAS Digital Voice
Runs NXDN or dPMR Mode 1/Mode 2 conventional voice, with mixed analog/digital operation so existing analog radios stay in service during a digital migration. NXDN Type-D single-site trunking is built in for sites that need it.
1500 mW Class-Leading Audio
Icom's custom high-power speaker and an engineered casing deliver 1500 mW of internal audio, loud enough to cut through kitchens, loading docks, and hallway noise. The AquaQuake function clears water from the speaker grille so audio stays clear after a spill or rinse.
IP67 Sealed, MIL-STD-810G Tested
Rated IP67 for dust-tight and submersible protection, with IP55/IP54 water-jet and splash resistance. Tested to MIL-STD-810G across temperature, humidity, vibration, and shock, and rated for -30 deg C to +60 deg C operation.
Man Down, Lone Worker, Emergency Call
Motion and stationary detection triggers Man Down automatically, and the Lone Worker function checks in on solo staff. A dedicated emergency call key sends an alert instantly, and Radio Stun/Revive/Kill lets a supervisor disable a lost or stolen unit remotely.
18-Hour Battery Life
The supplied BP-280 battery pack runs up to 18 hours on a charge, enough to cover a full shift without a midday swap. At 258 grams the radio stays light on a belt or apron all day.
Digital Voice Scrambler
A low-level digital voice scrambler keeps conversations private on shared channels. Combined with individual, group, and all-call addressing, it gives supervisors control over who hears what.
